As I look around me and listen to the news I am wondering what does International Women's Day mean? Why should we celebrate it or not celebrate it?
Three years ago I was in the Republic of Georgia (the country, not the state) and I was fortunate to be able to hear my mentor Dorthy Kelly Patterson speak. What is it I remember most about that?
Romans 12:11New Living Translation (NLT)
11 Never be lazy, but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically.
So... basically that day I learned that I should serve the Lord my God with all my heart, soul and might. Never give up serving Him.
God gave us (women) a huge role in life. To raise our children and be a helper to our husbands. This is serving Him, there is nothing wrong with it, and we should be happy in it. Of course God will give us seasons to use our gifts, whether it be hospitality, teaching or even bringing in some income to help our spouse. The main thought is to be happy in who we are in Christ.
To me that is a daughter to the King, a help meet to my husband, a mother, a daughter and a sister. Wonderfully made.
It is so sad that the world and media is trying to tell us otherwise.
Eph 6:7
